UN ceremonies officially close International Year of Forests
Posted on Thursday, February 9, 2012The United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) officially marked the conclusion of the International Year of Forests on February 9 at UN headquarters in New York. A presentation of the Forest Heroes Award was made at a special ceremony that also featured film clips from the International Forest Film Festival, and the launch of the commemorative book Forests for People with 75 articles from 35 countries.
