'Trees for Tribs' program to protect and restore New York watersheds

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) recently partnered with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) for a tree planting event as part of the Lake Champlain Basin "Trees for Tributaries" program. The program's goals are to restore and protect the stream corridors that comprise the Lake Champlain Watershed, particularly communities affected by the swollen rivers and streams following Tropical Storms Irene and Lee.
