New life for fallen city trees
Posted on Friday, January 9, 2009Urbanwood is a Michigan partnership that rescues felled city trees in routes them to small, local sawmills where they eventually become hardwood floors and other home products. The group's sustainability approach utilizes dead urban trees from Michigan's emerald ash borer outbreak and diverts them from landfills. Similar projects are popping up around the country.
